Atrocious living conditions and service

I signed a lease agreement on the 7th Decemeber 2012 for occupation on 01/01/2013. On the 31/12/2012 an inspection was done of which a list of defects were noted. I noted the urgent repairs that need to be done prior to my moving in..ie carpets in bedrooms to be removed and leaking tap in the kitchen to be repaired urgently. I only moved in on the 26/01/2013 after endless email conversations with no repairs done. Upon my moving only then were the repairs done. This is when the landlord told me that electricity should be put in my name. I then phone the agent - who refers me to Constantia Metering. Constantia metering told me that if i dont come immediately to sort this out, my electricity would be cut off. At no point between the 07/12/2012 and 26/01/2013 was i advised of this. This could have been done in december already when i paid for my deposit, admin fee and januaries rent. A week later after my move on the 02/02/2013 the unit abov e me burnt down. I have not had electricity since then as it trips because of the leaking ceiling. the water is now damaging my property. Once again i need to phone and follow - my daughter and I are out of a place to stay and no one cares:-(
