I got home from work this afternoon to find that we had no electricity. We got our bill from Protea Metering on the 25th, today is the 29th and they cut our power because we were apparently in arrears with our payments! But I paid them R2000 for electricity and their deposit. Since our body corporate had this bright spark idea to move over to Protea it has been a disaster. There hasn't been a single pleasant experience with them. They appear to not have a clue what they are doing. We have lived in our complex for years but we hate protea and their service so much we are actually selling our unit now just so that we can have nothing to do with them!
Our energy consumption has stayed the same but since we moved to Protea our monthly bills have doubled over night. Their invoices make no sense, they will have 10 different figures on one statement.
They overcharge, cut electricity without any notice and then we still have to pay a connection fee of over R500 for them to reconnect our electricity - seriously,!!! Service, what freakin service? They are!!!
If you are considering Protea Metering - save yourself a world of pain and just DONT DO IT!!!
