4ever Properties
What about my consumer rights?

Excited to buy our first house, my fiance and I met with an estate agent from 4Ever Properties to view a house in Stellenberg. We decided to purchase, signed the "4Ever Properties deed of sale" and negotiated the price with the seller. The deed of sale contains a check list that was completed by the seller stating that there was no dampness on the ceilings or walls. The seller accepted our offer and our bond was approved.

We received the keys on 1st Dec 2013. The estate agent said that tenants did a poor job of repairing some holes in the walls and that 4Ever Properties would send someone to properly repair them. The person they sent identified additional damage to the master bedroom ceiling and dampness damage above the sliding door at the rear of the house.

We've been trying since the 13th Dec to get 4Ever properties to arrange the repairs and now they want us to negotiate with the sellers lawyers for the repairs liability. We signed the deed of sale with 4Ever Properties. Why can't they enforce their deed of sale? Don't we as consumers have the right to get what we paid for? I'm getting married on the 1st of March and I don't want my new bride moving into a damaged house.
