Unpaid - Flat Deposit (2months and counting)

Kindly assist by letting me know how the complaints process works in your company. My boy friend and I rented at 16 Villa Toulouse a property managed the Paul Krog as an agent and the lease was in my boy friends. Last year the contract expired and he never got to sign a renewal lease after it expired however when he sent out a notice of termination to Paul he was e-mailed that he would still be liable for 3months rental. We moved out end November and the deposit refund hasn't been paid back to us, I have been in contact with Paul he had been very helpful previously however when I followed up again after the 16th of December he said he wants to talk to my boy friend fair enough he did call he and he went back to talking about the termination and he being liable for the costs which meant his deposit won't be paid to him. We are not even sure how much is due to us as he kept talking about an electricity bill which hasnot reflected for him to update his record and e-mail us an update of whats due back to us. I'm not sure how to go about addressing this as my boy friend relocated and I'm left to fit some of our bills and he has already been telling Paul to deposit the money since.
