Re/max Of Southern Africa
Latent Defect

We purchased our house from Remax through Deanne back in Nov 2010, with the understanding that the electric fencing was in perfect working order as it was advertised on the brochure produced by her.
A while back we found an intruder in our yard, not understanding how he could of possibly got in, we decided to check the electric fencing to find that it was not working. After further investigation it turns out that the entire unit that produces the charge was never installed. I'd like to point out that after legal consultation we were informed that this is a latent defect that Deanne should of informed us of. After many emails back and forth between myself and Charles (branch manager) we were told by him sorry you need to take this up with the owner and would accept NO responsibility what so ever. This is just a warning to other buyers out there to check what you are getting, I will never buy another house nor sell my current through any Remax. We also contacted head office as well and never received a reply! People need to be aware of these things or they could end up in a similar situation especially first time buyers.
