A few months ago, the estate agent showed my boyfriend and I a property to rent, my first question I asked the agent was " do they allow pets in the complex as I have a small dog which I have had for 7 years" they advised that pets were allowed so we decided to take the place, after signing a lease, paying deposit and rent and moving in, only then to find out there are no pets allowed so we confronted the estate agent and they said oh sorry we made a mistake there are not pets allowed we must please get rid of our dog or move out, what are our rights in this, I cannot not just give away my dog, had we known this before we would not have taken the place, we have now no where to go and they are about to leave us homeless as they are telling us now that if we do not move or get rid of our pet they are going to fine us. On top of this all they have been incredibly rude and very unhelpful in helping us find another place and in dealing with this situation that they put us in, what are our rights and where do we stand?
