I have been a tenant via Remax for 12 months. From the onset of the contract there was no interest in fixing items identified at occupation and i had spend my own money on a few of these (green pool, bushy garden and plumbing). During this period i have been legally abused (letters of demand) on multiple occassions and finally they sold the property at the end of the lease. I was promised a speedy settlement of the deposit so i secure a place to stay. I was given a long list of items that apparently need to be attended to most of which pre-date the contract. Now, instead of getting the money back i have accused of wrecking the property (how would they have sold the property?). The deposit is being withheld and i am in breach with the new landlord. I have all supporting decuments on each of the incidents over the contract period. I moved out on the 26th, 6 days before end of contract which makes today 18 days since i vacated the premises. I am convinced Remax is trying to withhold my deposit. I feel this treatment is purely because I'm a black man (especially after making promises to assist me in expediting a refund) and i have expressed this to the consultant.
