In August, Melissa the person charged with maintenance informed me that I should approve payment of the deposit to the Tenant, since the exit examine was fine and no defects were noted. Upon, my inspection and check of the exit report (which I had to request) to my horror, my fridge was replaced, microwave had blown and the stove was faulty. I then engaged Shaun the manager who informed me that according to Rental housing act/1999 and Consumer protection act I had little claim. They say my fridge was irreparable, but it wasn't old. I then replaced the microwave and checked the stove, this cost me R 1050, but Shaun only repaid me R 500 of that cost. Although, proof of payment was sent to them, this is unfair. Just letting did not enforce the contract and the Act, for me to claim. The management was bias to the tenant, although the tenant breached contract, in informing them of faults. I am utterly disappointed, since I had 5 yrs service with them. Poor management and lack of customer focus. Their adherence to inspection is poor. I hope this Just Letting team is audited for their malpractice.
