I am deeply dissatisfied with the way that the agent conducted and executed the rental of my house. i bought the property through her and i only realized now that she misrepresented facts about the security of the premises during the sale.
As i had intended the property to be a business investment i tasked her with finding a tenant for me. the tenant she recommended and placed on lease turned out that she did not carry out a thorough background check on the tenant and the tenant ended up defaulting on rental as well as electricity payments which left me in the red for R 70 000. i eventually through a court order evicted the tenant but the agent never once advised on how to handle the matter nor showed up in support of the court process. During the court proceedings, the tenant vanished and because the agent had not taken accurate identification or alternative contact details the tenant was able to get away without being held accountable to his misdemeanors.
As for the security, it turned out that the premises had been robbed 3 times before, resulting in the then owners opting to sell the premises. this was never mentioned despite my questions during the marketing and sale.
