Despite renting a property through the above estate agent in the hope of not having the usual problems with unscrupulous landlords, 4 months later a deposit of R20 00.00, all we have received back is R1980.00. Roma Naude/Remax have failed to protect our rights as clients. The numerous deductions off the deposit are incorrect and unfounded. For example 1 weeks rent as we allegedly only vacated the house on the 5 of the following month. Rubbish we vacated on the 1st and she cut off our access to the estate the same day. The property we rented was in a very sad state of neglect, we spent a fortune cleaning up the overgrown gardens etc. However, now R5000.00 has been deducted from the deposit to cover the cost of cleaning up a property that was left in far better condition than we received it, No one covered our costs and we left it in pristine condition. As the legal profession simply leaves you with ludicrous bills and nothing resolved, the matter will now be taken up with the Housing rental tribunal as well as the estate agent's board. Personally, she has done nothing to resolve the matter. Her only interest is the commission she will earn should she sell the property
