I entrusted Gerrit Coetzee Properties to sell my house in Joburg last year after it had been burgled. I had previously asked him to sell the property but his service had been less than desirable, after the burglary however I was keen to sell the property as I live in Cape Town and managing it from here was difficult. He found a buyer but has subsequently disappeared not replying to telephone calls or emails. All transfers have taken place with him missing in action. He also referred an illegal electrician to issue an illegal electricity meter to the property which has cost me substantially in trying to sort this out with the City of Joburg. No handover of keys were done to the new owner as Gerrit has disappeared. The new owner has started building before transfer has taken place. All in all he has left me with a mess to sort out knowing that he will receive his commission. He also suggested illegal behaviour after I put my claim through with the household insurance department. I will be taking this further with the Estate Agents Board of SA as Gerrit does not act in the best interest of his clients. He is not trustworthy, reliable, honest or dependable
