Gautrain
The price I had to pay

I bought a Gautrain ticket on 3 March 2013 for the first time. I was informed that a ticket for 44 trips will cost me - R880 which I bought. I was never informed that this ticket expires on day 35. My son is a student and travels from Centurion to Hatfield. When I phoned the call centre on 5 March to find out whether busses are included I asked the gentleman how long is the card valid and he mentioned 3 years. Because of the first time I was under the impression that this was then for 44 trips. This morning my son phoned me mentioning that he cannot use his card. They told him that it has expired as 35 days have passed. I went to Gautrain Centurion and they could not help me. I phoned the call centre and they told me to log a complaint. I got misleading information from Gautrain the first time and feel they need to refund me for 22 trips as my son only used his card for 22 trips. Why will I buy tickets for 44 trips if I knew that there is a college holiday and that he will not use his card on public holidays and weekends? On the printout I received from Centurion station was the 1st day on Sunday 3rd March also included as a day. Why did they not inform me of all these factors?
