SARS
SARS attitude and no sense of urgency

I am self employed individual who does mainly contract lecturing. I submitted my 2012 return in mid December. 8th January, on calling the call center to follow up. I was told it has not been processed because my ID number was incorrect and that I need to take my ID book in. I have been a tax payer for over 20 year with the same ID number? Tshipiso at Benoni checked my ID and advised it was correct and advised me to provide her with the necessary documents to speed up the process, which I did.(Good service recovery) The next week, she advised it had been assessed and sent to audit which should take 21 days. 23rd January I received a letter requesting more docs. The call center advised that the documents received on 8th were correct but now advised audit would take 30 working days. Today, 25th February, 45 days after going to audit I was advised by the branch that it had not been allocated to an assessor (so nothing has happened) and that I could expect to wait for another 3 to 6 months. I was advised to just wait and that I CANT SPEAK TO ANYONE to escalate it. SARS owes me money, so I can wait 9 months. No support for a small business. Is this WORLD CLASS SERVICE???
