I am married to a South African and it has take over a year and 6 months to process my renewal. We have found a house which we cannot complete the purchase because my documents are not ready. H/Affairs made an error and issued incorrect permit, instead of acknowleding their error and ensuring it gets fixed ASAP, my documents have probably gone to the back of the pile.
Durban has tried to assist me where they can. Customer services wants me to get all my documents to them- why should I be running around sending them dcuments THAT ARE AT THEIR OFFICES! But I have sent through to them.
I understand the volumes of work that they have and poor resources but still 18 months to acknowledge that someone is still married and healthy and documents are all in place?!?!?!
I am frustrated as there is nothing I can do further until I receive this.
