I have always been hearing negative criticism about our SAPS & perhaps to a point some might have been true as i have witnessed it (Athlone & Ravensmead Police Station)... I have read some of criticism from our politicians as well.
Yesterday, was a special day for me & my family.
I work for a company called Top it Up. They supply prepaid Airtime & Electricity & other services. i was driving on the N2 with the above logo on the car. someone in front of me suddenly hit emergency brakes, i followed immediately with mine. i realized i would not make it so i tried to swerve right but the speed would have taken me into the barricade so i tried to swerve left. i don't remember after that but i ended up in the bushes opp. Khayelitsha. as i went into the bushes couple of guys came running towards my car. initially i didn't realize what was going on but when the police vehicles came near me they stopped & eventually fled.
The two officers & a patrol vehicle came over to me asked me to get out of the vehicle & come sit by them. eventually the patrol vehicle left but the two officers stayed with me until the tow truck arrived & towed my company vehicle out of the bush.
