I am a concerned resident of Dellville Park in George and residing in Fawn Avenue. It came to my attention that we are paying high taxes and rates based on the area that it is situated in. Due to the fact that it is one of the first-class suburbs within George Garden Route area, we have to pay the price thereof.
The issue is therefore not the high tax and rates nor the area, but the condition of the infrastructure of the road. This specific street (Fawn Avenue) has been neglected for decades, due to a lack of interest from George Municipality. The following had been observed:
o No storm water drainage had been installed
o No pipes to direct the flow of water away from the road
o Poor standard of the tar due to the low quality thereof
o Potholes has been observed within a short period of time, after new tar has been laid due to poor workmanship and /or low quality tar
We voted for you and therefore it is a DA -managed/controlled area. It is therefore important to honor the people that believed in your capabilities. Poor services like this is breaking down this trust that we as residents have in you.
