In 2011 I sold my property. I paid the required pre-sale rates settlement bill to Msunduzi for clearance promptly and I fulfilled all obligations.
Early in 2012 I made the application for refund (R7335) indicated by Msunduzi. In July I was informed of further documents required and those were promply submitted. I was informed in November that a further letter was required from the attorney and this was promptly submitted. I was promised that payment would be made in January 2013. In January I was informed that due to an audit, payment had been delayed. Upon further inquiry, Grace Ngcumisa (Refunds) promised that refund should be made by end of April.
Since this did not happen, Grace directed me to the Manager Mr Maharaj and the CFO. Since then I have made over 20 calls - I am put on hold for long periods. I have not gotten through. Grace.informed that the refund is awaiting the final signature of the CFO, along with other payments since January/February. If I owed Msunduzi over R7000 I would have received legal demands by now.
