We have a 6 month bungle/mess with our municipal accounts. We moved house and have a credit from the sale of our previous house of around R5500. This was incorrectly transferred to the new owners of our previous house (who have to date never received any accounts for their electricity either). We never received the new accounts despite numerous attempts to get them, until on one of our many discussions they emailed us these accounts last month, which were all incorrect and with incorrect addresses. Despite trying to resolve this with many, many long phone calls with incompetent staff who refused to put us through to anyone with any authority, we hit a brick wall. In exasperation we eventually sent a complaint to the to the City of Cape Town Ombudsman (on the 15th April). They have also done nothing we are aware of to date. Instead they the City sent someone around to cut off our power today! Now that is service for you...
