I applied for my passport about 4 weeks ago with a friend of mine. My friend has already received his passport within 2 weeks of his application and I'm still waiting for mine. When I applied for the passport, I specifically asked them how long it would take and they said up to 4 weeks. I've been calling call centre every week for the last 3 weeks trying to track my passport and the response every time is that it is in fingerprints verification section. And every time I ask them is there an issue that it's so long in one department, they have said there is no issue. It is now the last week of the four weeks period and I need to apply for a working visa to Abu Dhabi by the end of this week and when I called the call centre this morning, I was told there is no ways that I would get my passport within this week. I then went to the Cape Town office and asked them to track it for me, they basically told me that there is nothing that they can do, it might come next week Monday but they can't guarantee me anything. So what do I do now, everyone that I've spoke to has gotten there passports within 3 weeks from applying, 4 weeks later and I'm still waiting for mine.
