Government Pension Administration Agency
Claim Not Processed

My uncle passed away on the 28th of February 2013. We submitted all documents on the 7th of March for the funeral benefit. Assisted by someone at their head office. We were told that the money will be in his wife's account by the 14th. Which of course did not happen. After calling them again in April. We were told that they did not receive the documents and we will have to send them again. We got all the information together and send it via speed services. No correspondence from their part I have to do the follow ups. Now after endless hung up calls and a high telephone bill they tell us that we need to type a new Lobola letter, with signatures of the witnesses from both families. I told them that all the witnesses have passed on and I need to know what to do and they all clueless or giving me contradicting statements. I am appalled by all of this. Imagine if we were dependent on this payout for the funeral, He would still be lying at the undertakers. His wife has 2 daughters to care for. They need the money now more than ever. I cannot believe how long this is taking and if his wife struggles this much with just a funeral claim I shudder to think what will happen with the pension.
