Yesterday I got stopped by a female officer at Alberton Boulevard opposite woolworths in the morning. Now I was driving towards the city and traffic lights were green so therefore I had right of way when suddenly a taxi pulled up in front of me he started driving way too slow as if hesitating to go further because of the traffic officers in front. I overtook him while the traffic light were green, then drove off not even 200 meters only to be stopped by a black female officer who accused me of driving fast I tried explaining what just happened but she wouldn't listen took out her book and wrote me a R500 spot fine. I find this unfair because the taxi in front of me that disturbed me got away with this and I had to be fined, I admit that the speed I was on that moment was just a bit over 30 km maybe 35km but a R500 fine??? that's just crazy!! The officer did not have any record of the speed I was going as there was no speed trap there, she just 'Assumed' I was driving above the limit. A lot of metro police women do this to other black females to feel superior I believe this. I have never gotten a spot fine before. I just find it unfair that now I have to pay this.
