Spent time at the Musgrave branch looking for a watch for my wife's 50 th birthday. Found one I thought she would like. Went to Gateway branch the next day to see if they had a similar one in a different brand name... no luck. I bought the one I saw at Musgrave.
To be fair I was told they do not give you your cash back when I asked.
I excitedly gave this expensive gift to my wife only to find that 2 years ago I had bought a very similar looking watch for her. Needless to say I felt terrible and she was disappointed. I went back to the Pavilion branch, explained the problem and tried in vain to find a watch that appealed to my wife's taste. I acknowledged that I was aware of their no cash back policy but requested that they contact the director and explain that it was my wife's 50th birthday, that I only purchased the watch hours before and that it was a genuine mistake.
The director showed no empathy or concern but simply refused point blank and quoted their policy.
Now my wife has a CREDIT NOTE for her 50th birthday present!!
I respect your policy but what happened to having a bit of a heart. I spent nearly R10 000 with them about two weeks ago... NEVER AGAIN.
