I did an enquiry with Bauer (gearboxes and motors) a member of the Hudaco Group on the 8 March 2013 and spoke to Thandile at Bauer.
an official quotation was emailed to me with all my company details on and reference number given, I quoted my client according to the quotation recieved and upon me getting the order from the client I then phoned Bauer to place the order whereby Thandile then told me that he had quoted me the incorrect price and could not supply me with my order.
I then requested to speak to his National sales manager Pete Richmond who told me they could not meet the price quoted and were renaging on the quote. I then spoke to Knox Ngema who told me it was my duty to check that the pricing was correct even though I had already received an official quote and that they would not honour their quotation that was emailed to me. I then contacted Mr Graham Dunford who is the Divisional Director regarding this matter where he raised his voice at me and told me that they would not honour the quote.
I find this highly unprofessional and unethical as this could happen to any other client that requests a quotation.
