I recently purchased a Hyundai ix35 and looked around on Hyundai's website for accessories. I liked the built-in GPS unit (various pictures of it on their website), so I clicked on "request a quote". It automatically filled in the part number and I completed my details before submitting it.
I then received a mail on 11 January 2013 from Hyundai Airport with a quote of R1, 836.90 ex VAT. I phoned Hyundai Airport to arrange for purchase and installation. They told me that this part number is incorrect and that it (the part number) was for a hand held GPS unit. I read the part number from their web site to him and he said that the numbers must be incorrect. I then saved screenshots and quote as proof.
It was at this point that I phoned the Hyundai Customer Care department. It took them 25 days (and another mail) to respond/revert, saying all was correct except an error with the pictures, therefore I can buy the built in unit for R12, 325 VAT. They have since removed the part from their website.
I followed the correct channels to get a quotation and I feel that I should get the initial advertised built in unit for the price that I was quoted.
