Fiona's Fabrics made cushions with covers for me. It cost more than R14, 000. After washing a cover, it shrank so much I couldn't put it back on.
They told me to contact their supplier and when I insisted that they are my supplier, they collected the cushions and fixed the zip.
Fiona's Fabrics say all materials shrink and I shouldn't wash it ever. They say the zip is there to stuff the cushions, not to remove and clean it. They said there is nothing wrong with the cushions. They also said that it is the first time it happened.
When I ordered the cushions I made it clear that these were for outdoor use, and nobody told me that the fabric would shrink. So I now own R14, 000's worth of outdoor cushions that can't get wet.
I bought the material from Fiona's and Fiona's made all 24 cushions. If it needed to have been washed beforehand to prevent it from shrinking, they should have done that before making the cushions. If the material is not washable, it should not have been sold for outdoor cushions. And it should have been pointed out to me.
