I am an MTN subscriber, and received my latest cellphone bill from them on Friday, February 22 2013. On that bill I noticed an irregular 'content charge' of R455. I called MTN to find out what this was for and they informed me that it was charged by Smartcall for content that I had allegedly downloaded from their service.
MTN insisted that there was nothing they could do about it in terms of blocking Smartcall from charging my account, and the best thing for me to do would be to call them directly.
On 22/02/13, I called Smartcall to find out what was going on, and according to them I had subscribed to one of their services, which I most certainly have not. They said further that I had agreed to receiving content from them on a daily basis for R15 a day, which I most certainly have not.
After numerous back and forth emails between myself and personnel at Smartcall, I have come to notice that they are still charging me R15 per day, despite me 'unsubscribing' on 22/02/13 even though have 'unsubscribed' from a service I have not subscribed to, they continue to charge my account.
This is highway, and I would like a full refund!
