Last week the insurance company allocated plumbers to install a new geyser. After 18 to 20 years with a Dolphin & set on 45 degrees, the water from the tap was a lot higher because of all the aerolite. Set the Kwikot on 45 & water was only cool then tested with pool gauge & it was 33. The plumbers said I have to set it at 55 or more - rubbish. Kwikot was here today, ref 148099 and said temperature should be on 60 or higher - once again rubbish. If Kwikot make geysers with settings as low as 20 then something is wrong if it only operates properly at apparently 55 up. If the geyser is set at 45 then the water from the tap should be 45 & in my case a lot hotter because of the aerolite. Vincent from Kwikot did agree that there is a problem & will report this as things stand now if the geyser was set at 60 the water from the tap would be about 50. I have had the run around in the past week so I am not taking chances as to what will be in his report. It is has been advertised widespread that the geyser uses the most electricity in a house & the public have been urged to lower the temperature to save & the higher the temperature the shorter the life. Hopefully now this will be resolved.
