On Thursday 2 January I called a private plumber as my geyser had "popped". The new Kwikot geyser was installed in 2010 so was still under the 5 year guarantee. The plumber reported the geyser on the morning of 2 January and advised Kwikot that the next day was my birthday and that I would have a house full of people from 3pm on Friday 3 January. He was told I would be the first call on the morning of January 3. I called later in the day on 2 January to confirm and was told I was down as the first call. After many calls on Friday 3 January (to a VERY rude and unhelpful technical supervisor), the team arrived at 10am to install the geyser. They left at 12.30, after reassuring me the geyser was switched on and working. However, by midnight on January 3, I still did not have hot water. I called at 7.30am on Saturday January 4 to report the geyser not working. When I called the emergency number that afternoon, I was told my geyser was down to be checked on Monday. So Kwikot were happy to leave me without hot water for another 48 hours. After sending an SMS threatening to sue for the cost of a private plumber, a team arrived and SWITCHED ON THE GEYSER!!! Kwikot are a useless lot.
