My geyser burst on Sunday 29/1. It is still under warranty with Kwikot. Kwikot can only install the geyser if there is access through the (damaged) ceiling. This must be provided by ABSA Insurance Company. ABSA Insurance Company appointed NGS Contractors and Projects CC, but they have, to the best of my knowledge, not arranged with Kwikot for the ceiling to be replaced. Here is my biggest issue. I spoke to Ruline to find out if the geyser cannot be moved outside to prevent future damage. Also whether it is possible to replace the 200l geyser with a smaller geyser with a heat pump, as it benefits me through energy savings and benefits Kwikot through sale of a heat pump. Simple answer: No. Kwikot can only replace the geyser with EXACTLY the same product at EXACTLY the same place. Any other place, they will deliver but not install. This isn't a cardinal sin or something but I really think that this type of unwillingness to meet a client halfway, leaves a bad taste in the mouth. Their defective product is the reason why I now enter day 4 without hot water, with the accompanying discomfort of having ceilings replaced etc. using my precious leave days.
