On 29 Nov I attended lunch at The Residence in Houghton. They have installed a huge hump of concrete across the driveway "to prevent flooding of premises". My car is "low slung" and when attempting to exit premises, the underside of my bumper sustained serious damage. I telephoned and was told the owner was away, they would call back, which they never did. Eventually Sanet, the General Manager responded to my email saying "The Residence cannot be held responsible for damage". I would suggest that all guests, unless you drive a 4x4, leave your car parked in the street, you have a better chance of it coming away unscathed.
The attitude of The Residence and Sanet, the General Manager, was arrogant in the extreme, and advised that I contact their attorney for "more clarity". I would advise anyone visit The Residence beware the bad attitude.
Surely if you are trying to attract affluent guests, their vehicles should not be subjected to damage and then a bad attitude.
