My father is a pensioner, semi deaf and a widow. Since my mother passed away, he's being trying to sort out his TV licence as she used to do everything for him. He has been to the post office several time to apply for pensioners rates - nothing happened instead they asked him to continue to pay my mum's account - she's late but he did - they stayed in the same house. Since then, the SABC has been harassing this poor man stating he owes them money and that the sherrif would be visiting him. Can you image the shock. After me taking over to help him sort out the problem, i find out that he does not have pensioners rate and he owes them R624.50 which is the difference after combining the 2 accounts. Which part of pensioner rates do they not understand and why hasn't he been given a pensioner rate after visiting the post office several times. Now he cannot buy a TV for his room because he owes them money. What is going on...
