My wife and I was looking for a caravan for a while now and saw one to our liking and price. We contacted the seller and mail them. We got a relpy that the caravan is a popular ad and should we need to reserve it for us we need to make a deposit of R5000 which we did. Only after that we realised that it was a and that the deposit we paid had been. I contacted the person to whom we had the cell number and he answered swearing at me and dropping the phone. Since then we could not get hold of them. A case has been opened at the police and the bank has got video footage of the culprits. I cant believe that OLX frist of all let these type of advertisements gets placed, second, what kind of verifying process does OLX have in place to stop these kind of things happening in future. They should have the advertiser include their ID number and registration number of the item so that they can make sure that the ad is legit and that that item does actually belong to the advetiser. My personal experiance is that i will never make use of OLX nor will I encourage people to use it again.
