In February we took our Toyota Landcruiser to this dealer to sort out a problem. We specifically asked (1) to check the master cylinder as we thought that was the problem - we had recently had a problem with it; and (2) to quote us upfront with costs. The assessor assigned to us was Pedro Nusca.
The next day he called us and said the problem was the clutch release fork but the whole clutch has to be replaced at a cost of R16000. We decline and he proceeded to charge an assessment fee which we refused to pay as we specifically asked for a full quote prior to doing anything.
We then took the vehicle to another workshop: it ended up being the master and slave cylinder (nothing wrong with the clutch at all) and it cost us R4000 to fix with a guarantee.
I lodged a complaint with Xania de Swardt at McCarthy Hatfiled on 15 April and today 23 April I still await somebody to come back to me regarding this incorrect diagnosis and misquotation.
