On the 15th January I submitted a quote to the Imperial Medical Aid Group. Medical Aid number was on the dentist's quote. Trudie van Greuning later sends me an email requesting the Med. Aid Number. I then send her a number printed on the card. Her reply was that it was discontinued. This quote and Med. Aid number is almost the same as the one sent through the previous week for another crown. That was authorised within a couple of days. I then supply van Greuning with the Principal Member's name and DOB / ID number.
All to no avail. It's now Monday 20th January and still no authorisation from Imperial.
I must just add... they omitted just over R1000, 00 on the first authorisation. After I queried it the staff member said he will have to check with his superior. The correct amount was subsequently authorised. Suspicious ethics??
I get the impression Trudie van Greuning does not like being interrupted at work and it's too much effort for her to sort out a simple authorisation. Imperial Medical Aid appears to be a very unprofessional organisation. Maybe time to invoke the Consumer Protection Act with them.
