I am constantly receiving final reminders via post for a TV licence for a TV I owned five years ago. I had been fully paid up and owed the SABC no money. I cancelled my TV licence and had informed the SABC via affidavit of this. To date, I have sent a total of three affidavits and my most recent final demand letter states that I owe R2225 for a TV I owned five years ago. It is insulting and annoying and a complete waste of my time. I had sent the affidavits to the attorneys who were dealing with the matter. No one ever responded from the attorneys firm. Each time I contacted the SABC offices / call centre, I was informed that I had to submit an affidavit. I have now emailed my complaint to the SABC and I am expecting a response from them, because this is completely unacceptable.
