I have a 1998 Honda Prelude, a rare car and as you can imagine, parts are hard to come - so I stick to buying genuine parts.
Currently, the bushings on my lower control arms need replacing so I ordered the parts at the parts department with a man named Sam, who was most pleasant and helpful. As I had to wait a while for the parts, I started looking into who would be able to do the actual fitment of the bushings into my lower control arms and figured Honda could do it.
On 16/01/2014 at around lunchtime Sam called to say that the last of my 4 bushings had arrived and that they were available for me to collect. I thanked him and asked if he could do me a favour and ask his workshop dept to give me a rough quote for replacing the bushings. Sam obliged and said he'd call back and let me know.
The next part is something I have never experienced in my entire life EVER. Sam called back (he's so nice) and said that they COULDN'T DO IT. A Honda dealership won't (not can't) fit my genuine parts to my Honda?! I asked Sam if he was sure and he said that it was the exact reply they'd given him. Horrible attitude from the workshop at Honda Hatfield. I am disgusted, Honda wouldn't be proud.
