I was employed at Servest in their Integrated Solutions division over a period of 3 years. I was asked to go over to full-time staff.from October 2011 "because of the benefits & bonuses they could offer me"!
My bonus period was as per the financial year (april) but they changed it to September, and also the bonus pay date. On 30 Sept 2012 I was due a bonus which never came, I queried this on a number of occasions and was told that no bonus was due to the "Directors discretion"! I pursued this to get a reason as my conditions said it was based on company results and my performance. Butto no avail!
Yet the directors managed to pocket almost R5m each in payments based on the end of Sept 2012. Rules for one and discretions for others? (Or is that greed?)
In March 2013, I was invited to be part of an incentive scheme by 3 Directors including MD & FD! The format was agreed and in early June 2013 I submitted my first "claim". it was then that the MD told me in no uncertain terms that I don't get this bonus!
To crown it all I was no even engaged about wether I was getting a bonus or not in Sept 2013, none arrived.
I have queried this with Steve Wallbanks & CEO Kevin Derrick to no avail!!
