Appalling service and no follow-though

I am amazed by the Michelin's level of apathy. It all started when I rode my bike back from Blouberg to Strand. Close to Strand, I could feel something is going wrong. I stopped, investigated to find this bulge on the tyre. It sent shivers down my spine as I realised this tyre could have come off during the journey. I called Michelin call centre to notify them and their expectation was for me to take the bike to a local dealer in Strand and send the rear wheel/tyre to Johannesburg for inspection (leaving the bike there until inspection was done) Amazed by this, Michelin suggested an alternative that I borrow a bakkie and take the bike to Paarden Island 60 km away - gobsmacked, after writing to them, Michelin sent a person out to inspect the tyre; concluding a "tyre defect". They offered to pay for the remaining tread. I had to get the dealer to contact Michelin to initiate the claim. Surprise surprise; back to square 1 - "take the bike in to the dealer to send the tyre for inspection etc". I phoned Michelin begging them to assist and notify the dealer of the issue. Well I am still waiting. (1 month) Buying a premium brand will not necessarily mean premium quality or service
