Together with my spouse, I purchased a set of garden furniture in April 2006 which was delivered to our wine farm in Wellington. It had a tagged lifetime guarantee,
The furniture today has lost its powder coating.
I don't have a receipt any longer. They asked me to send photo's and Tafelberg recognised the furniture but now claim there was only one year guarantee on this furniture.
They now want my purchase slip, which I don't have any longer.
Tafelberg refused to go back in their own archives to retrieve a duplicate slip and their despatch book for delivery to our farm.
Basically, they told me until I find the slip, there is nothing they can do about it.
I find it extraordinary that I have to find a slip when you purchase something on a lifetime guarantee and they recognise the furniture.
The repairs on this furniture is probably not more than R2 500 and I have been an existing client of Tafelberg for 10 years.
Very disappointing.
