I just want to know if others have also experienced liver related problems due to using Herbalife? I started taking the shakes, protein bars and multivitamins at the beginning of August 2013. 10 days later I become ill with what has turned out to be Acute/Toxic Hepatitis. I have spent nearly R14 000 on doctors fees the past 2 months. This is for numerous blood tests, a sonar, a MRI and next week I need to go for a liver biopsy, just for safety sake. I have had to see my GP, and 2 specialists to get to the bottom of what exactly caused my liver enzymes to escalate to over 2221 in the one test and 1500 in the other test. The normal enzyme count is round about 15 to 21. The probable cause has been attributed to the use of Herbalife Products. The Research Dept at a University also informed my Dr that Herbalife will of course never admit to this, but they see numerous patients with liver problems and high liver enzyme counts due to the use of Herbalife. So, I just want to warn people, herbal products are not always safe and healthy. So be careful, VERY CAREFUL. Regards.
