We were approached in July 2013 by a gentleman from ABI in Develand to assist with the Operation Warm Heart initiative, taken on by ABI & SAB to sponsor brand new shoes for over 1500 children from poverty stricken areas. We, as balloon sculptors, (Clowns) came to an agreement that three of us would attend the event on 12 July 2013. We had agreed beforehand on a price & also that payment would be cash on the day.
Needless to say the day turned out very well but when it came to the end of the event & we sought to collect the payment, we were told that we needed to give banking details & that the payment would be done the following day. Well, it is now September & we have not yet received payment. We have been told a variety of things but no payment as yet.
It may not seem like a lot of money to some people, but we are relying on events like this one to carry us through. As missionaries, we have no other income except for the work we do. The message of the entire day & operation was that "Corporates Care". Well apparently they do care, they care about themselves only, and are not in the least bothered with little people like us..
