Numerous calls later&resending of emails, I received a call out of the blue offering a full refund or a new POC10 unit on14-08-2013.Giving gcarbon the benefit of the doubt, I agreed on the replacement unit, &requested their offer in writing. Verbal arrangements were made for installation on16-8-13.No email confirmation received regarding the "Offer" as yet. The electrician arrived on time but prior to the commencement of work I requested his Wireman's licence and Registration. He claimed he was unaware that he had to produce it today. I then offered him to confirm his licence&registration with the ECB SA.I contacted ECB SA immediately&no records were found in his name or the other company's name he supplied as well as Global Carbon's. The work did not commence due to a lack of documentation. I asked him about the CoC & testing certs, and a fee of R800 popped up for his own installation??! 10 mins after his departure Global Carbon office phoned, wanting to know why their electrician was not granted access to the premises. Funny, because the team were in my kitchen ready to start installing the Replacement Unit. Does this mean that there are over 16000 illegal connections, but "happy" customers?
