Escom Cliams not their priority

The entire neighbourhood had a power problem where the power switched on and of about 15-25 times a day & as a result of that my backup external hard drive got damaged. I was told what they need & supplied Eskom with all the required information, forms etc... During the entire period, I followed up on a bi-weekly basis with no reply on progress. It took them 5.5 months to tell me that the file needs to go to Gauteng (after it was sent to the adress they provided me with), then the technician inspection report was outstanding, but done, but only arrived at Eskom after a month. Then it needs to be signed off at the claims committee meeting, but it needs to be signed off in order to be presented to the meeting. 1 month passed & without it been signed off or presented & now another month passed with the same result. The next meeting is next month & I have a suspicion that this trend will just keep on. Meanwhile, I need to do a data recovery as I need the data on the hard drive to do my job.
