I need help, before my parcel is returned to sende

I didn't check my post box at the Durban Post office for more than a month, during that period I received a parcel that I didn't collect, it arrived on June 19 2013, on Friday 26th July 2013 it was sent to Cape Town in order to be returned to the sender. I went to the Durban post office today, Monday 29th of July they told me to call the customer services, I've been trying to call them from 12 pm today and can't get through the answering service keeps saying "please hold the line our agents are currently busy" I've spent more than R40 on airtime listening to that message.

The tracking number for my parcel is RI 271899579, I am willing to pay any penalties that may apply in having SAPO send the parcel back to me before it goes back to Germany.
