The construction on the N2 between Stanger and Mtunzini has resulted in damage to my vehicle due to poor work methods employed by the contractor. Road surfaces were left in such a state that when driving past certain areas, your vehicle would be met by a hail of loose stones for large distances at a time. Several telephone calls and emails to both SANRAL and the construction company have yielded no results to date. Chris Dewing from Road MAC Surfacing has employed what appears to be stall tactics to diffuse my claim. He assured me that their insurance would get in touch with me but nothing of the sort has come to fruition. SANRAL doesn't appear to want to accept any responsibility for this. We pay exorbitant toll fees to use the freeway. The least I would expect is a road that will not cause damage to my vehicle. IT is becoming all too easy to pass the buck and hope that the problem will go away. SANRAL - you are responsible for both the road condition and contractor - please accept this responsibility and resolve my issue.
