You cant pay online or by phone if you are not registered.
After about one and a half hours on the phone to Sanral it turns out that unregistered road users cannot pay the amounts referred to debt collectors and current amounts online, nor by telephone. The system is broken or maybe never worked in the first place. The only thing one can do is walk to the nearest Sanral office and pay - according to Sanral. This is how the much vaunted electronic toll booms for which we are paying a huge amount work. One can't even post a cheque by snail mail.
Sanral have also downgraded their website so that you cannot see what you owe if you do not register with it. Pathetic! I have heard the Sanral spokesman say the opposite on radio. He should talk to his call centre so that it can set him straight.
