I am extremely appalled by the service from Ethekwini Water and Sanitation. Some maintenance was carried out in front of my yard as there was a damaged pipe underground. The guys worked through the night and finished off in the early hours of the morning as told by my neighbor.
When I awoke in the morning, I found a Telkom pole lying across my driveway and couldn't get out to go to work. The pole was right up against the gate, which resulted in the latch being bent and the 2 spikes were knocked off. Another neighbor had seen the pole fall when the grader was digging up. No one bothered to move the pole out the way or alert Telkom that the pole was taken out.
I had to end up taking public transport to work and my husband unpaid leave as he needed to be home and make sure this matter was taken care of. On the day, 3 calls were made but no one came out. I ended up calling Telkom, they were not aware the pole was even removed by Ethekwini Water and Sanitation.
I called the claims department and was told to send through 3 quotes, location, damages, my I.D, pictures etc. I only need the spikes to be welded back on. Do you not have a maintenance department? I cannot believe how peop
