Hidden Fees for Parrot hands-free product

I have a 2011 parrot ck3000 evo hands-free kit installed in my car, and it seems it requires a firmware upgrade to work with a galaxy s3 mini. The parrot says paired, but it doesn't connect as before with my older phone.

After some research, and confirming with the supplier over the phone, I found out that you have to pay around R300/R400 to registered installers in order to do a simple 5minute firmware update. The small simple RS232/USB firmware cables can be imported for an even steeper price, but are not sold to just anybody locally according to the supplier.

My gripe: (and something to take note when you buy this product):
Every time you buy a new phone, or someone with a newer phone wants to use you handsfree device, you have to pay R300/R400 for a 5minute procedure.

The solution:
Firmware upgrade cables must be sold locally at a reasonable price, or parrot must provide an affordable method for you to do firmware upgrades, because mobile devices change regularly! And if Parrot continues to believe you are not entitled to pay a fair price for firmware upgrades, they should at least clearly warn you in advance that the device will only work until you upgrade your phone.
