Recently tried to get a personal loan from African Bank which unfortunately happens to use "Experian" for credit checks. I was deeply disappointed to find out that after months since my former creditors sent instructions to update all settledpaid up accounts (on numerous occasions) my credit profile has still not been updated. I even went on and called them myself to find out why it hasn't been done! Their only relply to this is that I'm not authorised to ask such questions. I asked for the Manager and was told the Manager doesn't speak to customers. It is with a heavy heart that write this because most Financial Institution in SA are subscribing to Experian for credit checks. So it is sadly safe to say that a good fraction of South African lives are affected by the Experian and its incompetency to just simply update a persons profile! Should I get a response for this complaint which I probably won't (looking at the response level of Experian) I am willing to even disclose the names of the people I tried to get help from at Experian whom with no hesitation told me to go and jump of the nearest cliff.
