So I noticed that African Bank did a credit check on my name without my authorization. I picked this up on Experian and called African Bank to query, I was told that a credit check was done to see if they can offer me a consolidation loan. I told them that they were not allowed to do this, as I did not apply for any credit at this time with African bank and they had no right to perform a credit check. I logged a dispute with Experian, a week later I got a call and e-mail from African bank confirming that the enquiry will be removed from my credit profile. Then a few days day later I get another e-mail from Experian confirming that enquiry will not be removed as per African Bank I did Apply for credit on that day. This statement is incorrect and contradicts everything African Bank has done and told me. I have e-mailed the ABIL Consumer Advocates Office a few times to sort this issue out but to date i have not gotten a reply.
